BC Card x BLACKPINK Collaboration… "BLACKPINK CARD" to be released on the 19th

  • Global girl group “BLACKPINK” directly involved in the card design process
  • Including overwhelming discount benefit up to 10% off per month in fandom, shopping and lifestyle sector
  • Planning to launch a variety of products targeting young generation… Will BC become the new hurricane for the credit card industry in South Korea?

The "BLACKPINK Card" by BC Card (CEO Choi Won-seok) has been unveiled.

BLACKPINK Card is the first credit card through partnership with celebrities in South Korea. The reason why the card is drawing attentions is that South Korean girl group "BLACKPINK" directly participated in the card design process. BLACKPINK has become global celebrity by entering numerous international charts.

The front design of the card is released in 10 types, including individual pictures of each member and images that symbolize BLACKPINK. Customers can select one of the 10 designs and apply through BC Card application "paybooc".

Through analysis of consumption data, the card contains overwhelming discount benefits on ▲ fandom sector (in-app payment, music/book, streaming, ticket, etc.) ▲ Shopping sector (convenience store, department store, membership, etc.) ▲ Lifestyle sector (game, beauty, public transportation, delivery, etc.) up to 10,000 won discounts in total.

In addition, interest-free installment benefits will be provided for up to 24 months when purchasing smartphones via Korea Telecom. Also customers who issue the card with VISA brand can receive discounts on domestic and foreign hotels, domestic airport limousines and quick check-in services.

"We are pleased to release the first celebrity-affiliated credit card with BLACKPINK, a prominent girl group who has been loved globally" said Choi Won-seok, CEO of BC Card. "We are also planning to release various products covering young generation and create new trends in the industry."

Hwang Bo-kyung, CEO of YG Entertainment, said, "We expect to create great synergy through credit cards released with BC Card. We hope that this partnership will be an opportunity to give more satisfaction to our fans as it is about to mark the fifth anniversary of BLACKPINK's debut."
