Newly appointed CEO Jong Jin Chae “Will lead domestic and global market with platform competitiveness”

New president and CEO of BC Card has been announced.

BC Card (President and CEO Jong Jin Chae, www.bccard.com) has announced Jong Jin Chae as its new president and CEO after the shareholder meeting and board meeting on March 30th.

In the inauguration ceremony, President Chae has declared his management policy to utilize diverse platforms to maximize BC Card’s competitiveness in the domestic and global market.

He stated in his speech, “As the digital financial era dawns upon us, new players from different business sectors have joined the payment market. BC Card must help its member and client institutions increase their competitiveness amidst these changes.”

He also continued, “BC Card must increase cardholder loyalty by creating a convenient payment environment and providing differentiated marketing platforms. As for the overseas market, BC Card must secure its competitiveness it has acquired through its global business ventures in Indonesia, China, etc and procure its leadership in the FinTech sector.”

President Chae has proposed ‘economy of scale’ and ‘strategic investment’ as two strategies to realize his goals. BC Card needs to expand its business scope to adjacent business sectors and make bold investments to secure new growth engines. Meanwhile, BC Card must also successfully incorporate next-generation IT system to meet the changing business needs and future market with flexibility.

President Chae emphasized the importance of cooperation with and among diverse sectors to break through limits and take future leaps with the KT group. He also stated he will do his utmost to spread a fair corporate culture so that BC Card can become a happy workplace for its employees.

Lastly he shared with his employees, “BC Card has the capabilities and the experience of facing hardships head-on with new challenges, not fearing failure. With these assets, I am certain BC Card and its employees can and will overcome the limits BC Card is facing at the moment.”

President and CEO Jong Jin Chae, born in 1961, graduated Kyungpook National University (major in electronic engineering), joined KT in 1986, and headed Corporate Telecommunication Business Division, Corporate Business Consulting Division in KT. He served as the CEO of KT Telecop, and upon joining BC Card in 2015, he looked over the Sales Group as Vice President before being appointed CEO and President of BC Card.
