Title BC Card co-works with UPI to increase Chinese visitors in Korea Date 2016.06.09

BC Card (President and CEO, Joon Hee Suh, www.bccard.com) and UnionPay International (UPI) have joined hands with a state travel agency in China to increase Chinese travelers visiting Korea.

To make Chinese travelers’ visits more comfortable and convenient, BC Card and UPI are operating a VIP Lounge in top tourist spots such as Myungdong, Dongdaemun, etc. They are also providing diverse offers such as discount, gifts and more to those travelling Korea during Chinese holidays or in a corporate group tour.

BC Card and UPI have partnered with China Travel Service (CTS, a state-run traveling agency in China) to actively promote tourism in Korea. To commemorate this initiative, approximately one thousand Chinese tourists have visited Korea on Dano holidays (June 9th)

To these visitors, BC Card and UPI will provide a gift set consisting of ▲ traditional Korean fan ▲ Chinese tour map ▲ UnionPay card coupon book ▲ Lotte Duty Free : 5~15% discount ▲ Shilla Duty Free : 40K KRW gift certificate (for transactions over $800) ▲ UnionPay merchants in Myungdong area : 8% discount (UP to 2K KRW per merchant)

In the future, BC Card and UPI plan to receive group tour schedules from affiliated Chinese travel agencies in advance and provide great marketing offers customized to the schedule.

BC Card plans to continue its drive to increase Chinese influx to Korea by creating a better shopping environment and providing diverse payment offers, and ultimately foster Korean tourism industry"
