Title BC Card Signs Agreement to Partner with Premium Brand AMEX Date 2015.12.10

BC Card has joined hands with American Express. Through this partnership, BC card hopes to gain a premium service platform and expand its product portfolio. Customers can expect a wider choice of products and lavish card experiences around the world.

BC Card (President and CEO, Joon Hee Suh, www.bccard.com) stated that it has signed a partnership agreement with global payment service company AMEX on December 10th.

Prior to the formal contract, CEO of BC Card had visited AMEX headquarters early October to sign an MOU on issuing of AMEX cards in Korea and co-marketing activities. Vice president of AMEX explained the company, products and services, showing much interest in expanding its business in Korea. This excitement and eagerness for the business have been driving factors, leading both parties to sign the actual agreement in less than a month of time after the MOU.

AMEX is a company founded in 1850, with total assets of 183 trillion won and a number one brand value. It issues more than 800 types of card products in more than 40 countries around the world, and provides diverse services to private and corporate cardholders.
AMEX also operates world’ biggest cardholder reward program and a highly competitive premium service in hotels, airports, duty free shops worldwide based on its vast travel service network.

BC Card expects to use AMEX premium service platform to gain high-spending customers and increase the competitiveness of product portfolio. BC Card also hopes to gain power for next-generation growth through BC Card – AMEX alliance on marketing and fin-tech businesses.

President Ng Siew Choo mentioned, "Based on BC Card’s success in promoting marketing programs with UnionPay International and exporting processing technology in Indonesia, AMEX was all the more certain that BC Card could be the most fitting partner to share AMEX’s ideals. We hope that both companies could expand cooperation and create a successful cooperative model in the Asian market."
