BC Card is working together with Seoul City and other entities with Big Data skill sets to increase the number of Chinese tourist influx to Korea.

BC Card (President and CEO, Joon Hee Suh, www.bccard.com) held a MOU signing ceremony with Seoul City, UnionPay International (UPI) and KT on October 27th. After this MOU, BC Card will begin supporting Seoul City’s tourism policies by providing big data analysis on foreign tourists’ consumption patterns and tourism trends.

Seoul City will use this data to develop new tourist courses for foreign tourists, optimize city tour bus line and better other tourism-related policies.

BC Card has been creating cooperative ties with local governments and public institutions as a part of its ‘Big Data Project to Support the Public Sector’ since last January. ▲ Andong City to invigorate traditional markets (April) ▲ Ansan City to invigorate local market area (May) ▲ Seoul City to invigorate local businesses (July) ▲ Korea Culture & Tourism Institute to vitalize tourism policies (August) ▲ Big Data Institute of Seoul National University to analyze establishment/closure of small-scale self-owned businesses (September)

Head of BC Card’s Marketing Division, Hee Sang Kim stated, "Since BC Card realized the public sectors’ needs for innovation and big data, BC Card has been working with KT and multiple institutions on big data analysis projects. BC Card plans to expand its line of cooperative works and feed to other institutions that need BC Card’s big data analytical skills. We hope to provide practical support to the local community and continue to work for the public interest."
