Title BC Card Signs MOU with Korea Culture & Tourism Institute to Foster ‘Hallyu’ Date 2015.08.20

BC Card once again joins hands with a public institution with regards to Big Data solutions. BC Card (President and CEO, Joon Hee Suh, www.bccard.com) held a MOU signing ceremony with Korea Culture & Tourism Institute (KCTI) to commemorate the beginning of their collaborative works on big data in Seoul JW Marriott Hotel on August 20th.

This MOU was a part of ‘Big Data Support Program for the Public Sector’ which has been driven by BC Card since last January. This is the fourth local entity that BC Card has signed an agreement with – following Gyeongsangbukdo in April, Ansan in May and Seoul City in July.

BC Card will provide the following data to KCTI R&D Center ▲ prospects on tourism industry ▲ local tourism patterns ▲ pattern on domestic tourism spending. Big data analyzed by BC Card will be open to not only tourism-related public institutions but also the public so it could be widely used across the industry.

Jang Suk Ho, Head of BC Card’s Big Data Center stated, "BC Card has data of 300 million card transactions per month, experiences working with multiple public institutes and the best analytical skills based on those two assets. Through this MOU, BC Card plans to fully support ‘Hallyu’ and the growth of Korean tourism industry."
