Title BC Card proceeds with the service of “specialized education and consulting" Date 2013.07.09

BC Card(CEO Lee, Gang-tae, www.bccard.com), which supports the business of processing credit cards in 21 financial institutions, held a briefing session to explain 『BC Academy』while the invited executives and staff from major financial institutions in Korea including 11 member banks were present in Seoul Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, the 9th September. The presentation was planned to accelerate “the service of specialized education about credit card” by operating 『BC Academy』, starting from 18th September, for the financial institutions requiring the training of credit card.

"Service of Specialized Education about Credit Card” in BC Academy consists of △ Specialized Education about Credit Card △ System of Certification specialized in Credit Card, △ Publication of Books specialized in Credit Card, and △ Overseas Training Program.

"Specialized Education Program about Credit Card" has been planned considering that there is no systematic educational service to support a training, while there is a continuously increasing demand on education about credit card in the industry..

BC Card plans to operate “System of Certification specialized in Credit Card” by evaluating the on-the-job knowledge, considering that there is no specialized system of certification in the credit card industry, as opposed to the system of certification about general areas of finance.

Moreover, it will actively proceed with publishing ‘special books about credit cards’. The credit card market in Korea amounts to 560 trillion KRW, which is tantamount to 65 % of final consumption at the private sector. Even though there has been a sharp growth, there are still few books for reference to the business.

As opposed to the training for general affairs of finance, it is difficult to plan the regular training program for credit card considering the situation of the industry. Therefore, “Overseas Training Program” will arrange the opportunities to benchmark others in seminars abroad about credit cards, communication and finance, conferences, and exhibitions, etc. as well as provide the service to support the training by interpretation, etc.

On the basis of the knowledge about the credit card industry having been accumulated for 31 years, it will launch “Market Intelligence Service” as well targeting at the financial institutions and member stores, etc. It is based on “Consulting Service” and “Big Data”.
