Title BC Card Sends out Monthly Statements via Mobile Phone Date 2008.07.10
BC Card, in cooperation with mobile telecom service operators such as SKT and KTF, will begin from today a push-type service sending out monthly statements to its card members’ mobile phones, the company announced on July 10.

Until now, those subscribing to mobile statements had to connect to the wireless Internet on their handset, which is time-consuming and often troublesome. Users of the new service, however, can just
open a statement sent directly to their handsets. In addition to the statement, the user can receive discount coupons and other additional services, enjoying further benefits the credit card has to offer.

The user can check messages with statements through a push-type dedicated viewer, and they can be viewed on the spot or saved in the inbox for review later. This service is the first of its kind in the
industry, doing away with the need for multiple button-pressing, and large files can be received for free. Any user not familiar with using the wireless Internet can take advantage of the service, which is just like receiving text messages on a mobile handset.

Song Sun-Jin, Senior Manager for member billing at BC Card, said, “The mobile statement service can save trips to the bank and provides cardholder convenience. We will expand the service as part
of our strategy to take the leading position in the mobile marketing area.”
